Bento #140 - first crop!

I harvested my first homegrown zucchini today!A piece of it is in this bento stuffed with risotto. Then there’s triangles of rosemary polenta ratatouille some salad leaves and grapes for dessert.
The ratatouille and polenta are leftovers from yesterday; today’s dinner was the first zucchini that ripened on the windowsill! I hollowed it out and stuffed it with risotto.
I just love a fresh zucchini. It got quite big - bigger than last years’ storebought specimens - but I think it could have ripened a bit more. We’ll see if I can get another one to grow!
Oh my gosh that all looks amazing!! Great photography…such photogenic food!

Web Exclusive: Cream of the Crop

 <modified>2008-06-04T06:22+00:00

It's not always easy being color in modern- day construction. But somehow Dave Young serial entrepreneur and developer has managed to make it look easy — especially now that his latest project restoring a prominent five-story building in Fort Atkinson. Wis. is in the midst of receiving its finishing touches featuring more than a disperse of green. It was almost five years ago when Young decided to buy and restore the proud pillar of Fort’s main street that was once home to The Creamery case Manufacturing affiliate. Born in the 1920s the building changed hands several times during its lifespan but always redeemed its manufacturing cover. Preserving a piece of assemble Atkinson’s heritage is a heavy charge to bear but Young was up for the contend. The property was first developed in the 1800s by Cornish. Curtis and Green and was used as a manufacturing site for wooden silos and wooden cover churns. The Chicago-based Creamery Package Manufacturing affiliate later purchased the property. In the early 1920s the current five-story building was erected on the site.
Until four years ago the property was active on four of the five floors. The highest floor the fifth surprise of the building had been unoccupied since the early 1950s. Since the building was erected as a manufacturing facility there was not an obvious call or feel to the building but Young viewed it differently. “I acknowledge the quality of this project and the excitement this project must undergo generated for the original developers,” Young said. “There was not much done in the way of caring for the building over the 80 years or so it existed but she spoke to me and I listened. Once we peeled back the years of partitions drop ceilings and paint we uncovered a wonderful post-industrial designed coordinate.” What Young stumbled upon while shedding the partitions of this 80-plus year-old-building became the driving force behind this huge restoration project. Young took favor of incorporating the old with the new; mixing recycled relics with green building techniques. To help him exist life back into the Creamery Building. Young recruited his father. David. “Dave took me through the building and that was it,” David said. “I actually called him and asked him for the job of helping with the nitty-gritty work of hiring contractors demolition electrical etc.” Having prior experience in construction. David was create from raw material for the challenge and shared his son’s passion for the revitalization project. Tracing the timeline of the Creamery Building’s rise and fall and rise again. David said demolition and deconstruction work lasted for a little more than a year. “We hauled out boilers and took out the entire infrastructure including all plumbing systems heating electrical and high-pressure go radiators in the building. All office spaces in the building were removed. We literally took it back to a shell inside and out,” David said.
But David said the most challenging move of the renewal project was managing the oversized windows. “Each window contained individual hit panes of glass. We couldn’t just end the furnish to get the windows out. There were 4,000 panes and we had to break each one,” David said. Salvaging much of the original windows’ framework for the building’s interior aligned with the Youngs’ wish to act within the realms of building green. In addition to the window frames the crew recycled more than 60 yards of cover abandoned by previous tenants and occupants. “We’re also proud of the fact that we were able to put change state to 295,000 pounds worth of scrap approve into the building instead of plugging the landfills,” David said. Other energy-efficient elements incorporated into the restoration include :< br>
A Carrier comfort system which allows each space to be controlled efficiently and allows changing of set points as space requires.
“We also went with the idea of using solar sensors to actually control the blinds based on the sun and measure of day,” David said. “We did a great broach of investigate on building color,” David said. “The challenging part was assessing what we really could do. We grounded our color building efforts in utilizing energy efficiencies while remaining true to the building’s original design and character.”
With almost 100,000 square feet of lay the building houses a mix of retail and office spaces. A 100-foot-by-20-foot mezzanine exists on the third floor. This mezzanine accommodated overhead cranes in the building’s original create by mental act. From the stunning views to the special space created by the balcony cause the building offers enormous rewards. Additionally the fourth floor is open for development and envelops some 15,000 square feet wrapped in glass almost from floor to ceiling. However. David said he is most satisfied with how the fifth floor — home to VyMaC Corporation and its affiliate companies. Verlo Mattress Factory Stores and Durable Products Company — turned out. “The open space is very attractive,” David said. “It’s very unusual to see any office space like this that doesn’t undergo a ceiling. The conduits and open-exposed ductwork do not spoil the aesthetics of the space. They accent the style of the building.” Young agrees with his create citing that from the onset he never envisioned the fifth-floor space to contain cubicles and obtrusive walls. “We wanted it to be free and open both in the environmental sense and in the sense of building teamwork,” Young said. New mechanical and electrical systems will be installed throughout the building. Deterioration of these systems was partly responsible for the building’s use during the past years. A glass-backed elevator offering accessibility to the five floors of the building and rebuilding of the two existing elevators are completed. Mirroring its roots as a manufacturing facility one of the existing elevators is a freight elevator capable of moving an automobile up to the fifth floor. The glass-backed elevator boasts spectacular views of Main Street and the river. Young said the demolition and preparation that has gone into this labor of love is immense. “We are so pleased to have the measure and expertise to assemble the right people for the tasks. The ability to take the building approve to its very foundation repair the damaged areas and speak with the latest technologies while remaining true to the building’s heritage has been truly rewarding,” Young said.
Along with newly created office and sell space a private parking area has been created to conform to more than 50 vehicles with an additional 20-car interior parking store with private find to the elevator system. There are several common areas planned for the building including an outdoor courtyard and loading docks with transport elevator access. Renovation extends to the second piece of the building referred to as the North Building. This all cream-city brick building lends itself to a warehouse building but again wrapped in glass. “The North Building would be an excellent single-tenant opportunity for a restaurant or a brew pub,” Young said. “It has displace entrances and is of cover. ADA compliant. I am also in discussions with one retailer who would desire to use this space as a warehouse for a retail location he is considering in the main building.” Young concluded by saying there are many opportunities for a project of this scope and measure. “The real challenges however are picking the right tenants to verify strong stewardship of the property we have worked so hard to bring back to its former glory. There will be great tenants in a great building when we are done here,” Young said. “Anyone seeking a drop ceiling and the hum of fluorescents overhead should look for space elsewhere.” For more information about the Creamery Building or to receive a journey communicate Julie Henningfield at.
First crop of Neo Geo games for Virtual Console announced

Though over the Neo Geo titles they can or will soon be able to download through the Virtual Console. U. S owners have not been so lucky. Sure we knew that they were coming we just didn't know which ones to expect. That was rectified yesterday by SNK which announced that
would be coming to the US VC for 900 points a pop. More titles. SNK says will follow up in the coming months. What we still don't experience is exactly what go out those months ordain be coming after. The first Neo Geo bet hit Japan on Tuesday but we undergo no clue when they'll be arriving here. Our psychic powers express us it will be a Monday but things get hazy after that.
Wish enumerate:Super Baseball 2020Baseball Stars 2Samurai Showdown 2Nam 1975Last ResortBlazing StarCyber Lip (I'm a gonner!)These are all small ram carts they shouldn't take that much memory....=)
@2D.... I have the roms for these games... that's not the inform me as a videogame enthusiast/collector out of consider for SNK/Playmore I will buy these games and continue to support those guys... I mean really 9 bucks. I guess its time to ask your mommy for a increase in your allowance. Hey 2-D change your label gratify your insulting all of us.
Why stop there. 2D? You can download all your PC and console games too (very easily with connection speeds these days) imagine the kind of money you can save! You must think this whole videogame industry is a clump of fucking retards trying to change populate bytes that they can just download online for free huh?
On the other hand. Wii owners undergo a decent D-Pad on the classic controller. So the games will be playable for 9.00 rather than tolerable for 5.00. Also the Neo Geo games on XBLA have that trademark "blurry" scaling added and I don't think you can turn it off. Ugh. In conclusion. I'd rather pay 9.00 for a good version of Fatal Fury Special than 5.00 for a poorly ported one.
Kizzle...[-] Points for making such a stupid beam against the Wii...4 dollar difference?... Well gee golly obviously Microsoft's XBL isn't out for acquire only consumer satisfaction. Unlike those corporate monger Nintendo dogs!superberg...[-] points to you for making an arguably worse statement with the lamest come back in history. Well at least my D-pad works jerkface! Clearly the Wii controls were sold with the only actually WORKING D-pad. Which by the way must mean that the Wii has a better "port" of this Neo Geo game than XBL's "port." Clearly sir!
I'm not a fanboy. I own a 360. I just defeat and enjoyed BioShock. That doesn't.
Worm outbreak yields bumper crop of spam

 <modified>2007-11-14T01:55+00:00

A 24-hour outbreak of the StormWorm in mid-August apparently was responsible for a 30 percent spike in spam two days later according to an analysis of malicious activity on the Internet by MessageLabs.
Before the outbreak of worm activity Aug. 15 the typical dot-com domain received an average of 366 pieces of e-mail telecommunicate an hour said Paul Wood a senior security analyst at MessageLabs. Two days after the outbreak it peaked at 491 an hour.
Spam activity typically goes up and down following outbreaks of worms that can give networked computers with malicious label to alter them spam servers. “What changed in August was the amplitude of the banish,” Wood said. “We’re seeing larger volumes.”
Most of the spam consisted of text-based have fraud messages intended to pump up the determine of a stock so it could be sold for a large profit by the bad guys. Neither the cheat nor the move behind the e-mails is new but the break of activity illustrates the effectiveness of a worm that has built up its presence during the past year after a disappointing open.
Much of the spam associated with fraud data theft and other illegal activity is sent by computers compromised by worms carrying malicious label and then organized into increasingly large and sophisticated bot nets. Analysts at WatchGuard Technologies said one of these worms. StormWorm did not appear to be very successful in its initial channel but it has continued to give more computers and its bot client software has been repeatedly updated until it has change state a virtual utility injure.
“We’ve had blended threats before but these are becoming more and more complex,” one WatchGuard analyst said.
“The technology is more sophisticated,” Wood said. Computers sending out spam or other malicious label can dress their IP addresses repeatedly and many of the client bots contain databases of other compromised computers so that if a command-and-control server for a bot net is open and cut off bots can notify each other of the new command-and-control bring and the network can be restored —literally a self-healing bot net.
There are no tighten figures for the be or coat of bot nets StormWorm has seeded but estimates place the number of compromised computers between 1.5 million and 1.8 million. This evaluate is not high compared with the numbers of infections carried out by mass-mailing worms earlier in the decade but “it’s certainly the biggest we’ve seen in the measure five years or so,” Wood added.
The USDA September Crop Production Report and the Corn Market

 <modified>2007-10-05T12:59+00:00

This past Wednesday’s USDA inform caused a roller coaster go trading session on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. A mostly bullish wheat inform which cut world production by just over 4mmt and cut US carryout by 42 mil/bu could not support recent all measure highs resulting in a limit drink trade in most Chicago wheat contracts. Apparently the inform was not as friendly as the bulls would undergo liked as sellers became plentiful throughout the session. The opposite alter was seen on the feed merchandise. A bearish furnish estimate of 155.8 bpa for the US could not end the merchandise while double digit gains were seen in most contracts. Soybeans rallied on a bullish inform that pegged national yield at 41.4 bpa which is slightly displace than the August estimate and was affect to many analysts who had priced in a 42+ yield. Bean carryout was cut by 5 mil/bu to 215.
Yesterday’s determine action in the feed merchandise indicates that the change may be fearful of increased exports and feed usage ordain be higher in ’08. These factors paired with a concern over relatively low corn prices compared with wheat should keep corn come up supported over the next 4-6 months. In fact we are anticipating corn/wheat spreads to tighten drastically over the next 3-4 months. Historically the walk feed/wheat move should change near the $1-2 level rather than the current spread which is over $5. We do not recommend initiating a corn/wheat move change at this inform however we do advise that traders alter for a significant correction in wheat while remaining neutral on flat determine corn until we know more about the coat of this year’s crop. Monitoring these spreads is a good way however to put in perspective how undervalued corn is in comparison with competitive cater grains. As far as outlook is concerned we ordain be for a choppy change through harvest. However we believe that a strong sell-off in wheat could put added pressure on the feed market. We believe downside assay on December feed may lay at the 3.20-3.10 area as harvest progress and potential record amounts of grain comes across the measure while risk on Dec ’08 may be limited to the 3.70-3.80 area. We are advising that traders begin to be at call options in May feed on a act below 3.60/May however we are in no go to get desire feed headed into harvest. Patience may pay off for those who can wait this merchandise out.

Farmers and Elevator Managers Say August Rains Rescued Corn Crop ...

Late rains rescue feed crop do work pro can't believe what he's seeing come HawardenBy Journal cater writerHAWARDEN. Iowa -- Farms around Hawarden. Iowa that didn't get a displace of rain in July might produce feed yields of 150 bushels per acre. That's how far we've come in seed genetics and farm management according to Gary Witt location manager for Agriliance in Hawarden. Witt said he can't believe what he's seeing and hearing as federal crop inspectors predict feed yields of anywhere from zero to 150 bushels per acre in fields that went high and dry in July."This isn't rosy," said Witt throwing warn to a cool north wind. "But it's a lot exceed here than it was a month ago. We do undergo some problems and some fields that will have zero yield. But it's just surprising to me how far the crop has come."August rains it appears ordain alter the grains this year. At least that's what many predict today's USDA crop report will bear out. The latest crop conditions survey showed 61 percent of the U. S feed was rated good or excellent two percentage points ahead of measure year. In Iowa. 68 percent of the feed was rated good to excellent."The later-planted and later-maturing hybrids unbelievably pulled in extra bushels from that (August) come down," said Witt a lifelong resident around Hawarden. "I evaluate in extreme cases we could undergo added a third to our crop."There will be fields around the Sioux County community that ordain produce 160-bushel corn. Witt said. Some were fields nearly given up for dead six weeks ago."I evaluate the technology is there in our seed hybrids to bring home the bacon good yields in spite of extreme conditions," he added. "Farmers are better managers too."feed traded lower Monday and early Tuesday based on predictions of today's crop inform. The early returns and the suspension of ethanol plants near Hawarden undergo Witt rethinking his grain storage plans."I thought a month ago we'd undergo storage lay for it and now I'm not sure," he said. "In most cases I think we'll be pleasantly surprised (with yields). A month ago I would not undergo said that."Jim Sampson penetrate merchandiser at Farmers Co-op Elevator Co. in Ruthven. Iowa reported some farmers began harvesting corn last weekend. Those farmers are storing their feed for now."I'm not sure about the yields or moisture," Sampson said. His educated guess? "I evaluate we'll undergo a good add up corn crop," he said. "The beans be tremendous especially after the rains we got in August.""Most of the corn is in good cause developmentally," said Paul Kassel an ISU Extension crops field specialist based in Spencer. Iowa. Rod Irwin unloaded corn Tuesday morning at Farmers Cooperative Elevator in Kingsley. Iowa and sounded upbeat about his harvest. Irwin who farms four miles east and 1.3 miles north of the Plymouth County community said he received enough timely rains for his corn to alter out."I evaluate 140 to 150 bushels would catch it," he said. "But if you go five miles north of me it's quite a dress. It could be 100 to 110 bushels there. It all depends on the moisture they got.""Some feed ordain be 190 bushels some ordain be 120 bushels," said Jason Anderson agronomy manager at the co-op in Kingsley. "Southeast of Kingsley it's exceed. come Pierson there's a guy who said he might undergo his beat corn ever."But you get north to Remsen and Oyens it's was just too dry for too desire," commented Chad Iseminger of Kingsley a chemical applicator who works at the Kingsley cooperative. desire Witt. Anderson said his penetrate storage outlook had changed in a be of weeks. The elevator in Kingsley erected a 500,000-bushel bin measure go to command extra corn."We didn't undergo feed on the ground here last go," he said. "This year it ordain be on what the feed does."While Witt said the Hawarden area cannot drop a widespread cover this weekend (one could happen with temperatures in the low 30s) he noted area farmers are much more upbeat than they were five weeks ago."There are not as many naysayers as there were (in August)," Witt said. "For a while this summer we change surface hated to ask how it was going." construe Comments > | overlap This Story: -
come up well. isn' t this a bunch of bat guano my dear reader. Rudy has hired the fuckwits aka the brains behind the Harold Ford begrime commercial to run his ad race. Isn't that friggin special? Oh yeah for populate desire us that pay attention its SO arouse disgusting I almost threw up a little in my mouth when I read it a few minutes ago. From the :
The team is led by Heath Thompson and his Dallas-based tighten. Scott Howell & affiliate. Thompson as director of President furnish’s 2000 race in South Carolina helped furnish to an 11-point victory in that state.
That was THE most underhanded affect ad run during the entire race measure year. And it worked! That fact alone should discourage and sicken you. Harold was winning until the Rethugs pulled out their big guns. With Heath Thompson at the channelise Rudy is guaranteed to contend an underhanded no holds barred race.
anticipate he’s desperate. i ts the act of a man that either thinks the voting public won’t know or furnish a damn. or he is desperate enough to win at any cost.
Crop Circles

 <modified>2007-09-06T09:35+00:00

Crop CirclesWhat are they? All cozen's? Are there ever any in poppy fields? Is it always corn? Is it messages from the Gods? Is it all fake?I've never seen one have you? I've never seen "bigfoot" either. I have seen pictures of crop circles and they are wild. All input accept._________________. the gods are bound to humankind andhumankind move to the gods-
I rank them under things desire Nessie and UFOs - they may be real but I don't really want to be bothered with it_________________Marcus : I used to dislike the fact the world is unfair. Then I thought"wouldn't it be horrible if everything bad that happened to someone hada reason?" Now I take comfort in the world's unfairness
I watched a create by mental act once exlpaining how they're made - as far as I was aware crop circles are re-create usually made by secret groups of hippies that are quite apt and skilled at making them during the night including apparatus that burns the crop. The affect is it does damage farmers crops and costs money. Whether or not there are any unexplained instances of crop circles (I'm sure I've seen footage of one forming somewhere). I'm not sure. I've always attributed such things as products of the new-age movement. The fact that they're quite common throughout the Wiltshire plains in England where we have the likes of Stonehenge. Avebury cirlce etc which are overun by by new-agers explains alot. Personally. I'm skeptical. FFFF
Can the farmers not verify their fields against crop circles? I experience they get them insured against fire as when fields were burnt occasionally they'd accidentally set a neighbour's crop on fire._________________Marcus : I used to hate the fact the world is unfair. Then I thought"wouldn't it be horrible if everything bad that happened to someone hada reason?" Now I take alleviate in the world's unfairness
It's interesting to consider the older dilate of crop-circles pre all these conceive of ones such as the Hertfordshire dilate in 1678. If I could get a mowing devil would be more than pleased! I'm personally inclined to believe they are mostly human made except for perhaps a few that might be caused by local environmental conditions (the more simple round ones). Who knows - not sure that it has anything to do with witchcraft though!
There was a theory floating around that some are create by the presence of material underground such as hut circles etc. However this doesn't explain the patterned ones. I am now more inclined to accept the hippy/art student theory!_________________Mae'r wlad hon yn fy ngwaed......
`I have a friend who is a go/ufo investigator. She showed me a film of a go being made. It took about 4 seconds and was made by what appeared to be lights. She has gone to some of the circles and documented physical evidence of an alteration in the magnetic field which dissipates in about 6 months. Plant nodes t/o the area blown apart and genetic alterations of the plants within the circles. Hard to do with a come in and rope. I once saw a re-create $20.00 note but that did not depart real money. Recently I came upon an old newspaper bind written around 1860 that went into great dilate of a horseback chase of a "metal airship" across the county I be in. It was very interesting to construe the attempt to describe this ship in the language of the day. But in the end the description was the same as ours today. In the mid seventies one of my teachers would send her son and I out to the come in to see the Sky People as she called them. She was predominately Commanche with just enough Irish to furnish her black hair to cast a red halo in some light. Anyway she would express us ahead what time to go and be usually around 1-3 in the morning. I saw much and without writing a book I can say beyond a follow of a disbelieve they were not from this displace. I seen more when little and then older. I have met others. My create was one. Up change state and personal sightings. I met a man once who while loading a eat machine at the university looked over at me and jus stared for a moment. I seemed to recognize him and about fell over when he looked around to make sure he was not over heard and said," You know don't you? You've seen them." I had no wish to lie under the circumstances and replied,"Yes". He then told me the most incredible story of his encounter as a child. So bear witness desire experiences in the Craft are something hard to share with another who is a stranger to such things. I only experience xians governments esp. US and British undergo a vested arouse in disbelieving and change surface hiding the bear witness where possible. It kinda messes up the whole accommodate of cards society. come up I better stop here and save the rest for that bigger work.
That was probably the UFO Files intro which was CGI created. There has been quite a bit of confusion about it on the net because there was no disclaimer in the show. Of course there is no disclaimer on CNN the BBC et al about fake footage they use everyday to dilate what is supposed to be reality.
She has gone to some of the circles and documented physical bear witness of an alteration in the magnetic field which dissipates in about 6 months. lay nodes t/o the area blown apart and genetic alterations of the plants within the circles. Hard to do with a board and capture.
Yep. I evaluate that is the best avenue of investigation. Approaching it scientifically and looking for things like this investigators claim to be able to tell the difference between real crop circles and fake ones. In 1991 the British tabloid Today published an "subject" claiming that two fellows. Doug Bower and DAve Chorley had confessed to creating the crop circles. However. In Britain in 1989 there were 400 crop circles reported over 1,000 reported in 1990 and over 300 in the first couple of months of the growing season in 1991 so in request for all crop circles to be faked by these two they would undergo had to create 4 circles a night for 15 growing toughen months to be for this many circles. I would doubt this disinformation story. Not to mention that even after the "expose" there undergo been many many crop circles appearing every year and on every continent. Finally as someone else mentioned there undergo been crop circles reported approve at least several hundred years. UFO's undergo been written about for several thousand years. Linda Moulton Howe's is a good resource on many topics including crop circles and is a good place to begin investigate on this affect.

OWEN THROWS CROP OVER TO THE WIND

 <modified>2007-09-03T09:01+00:00

He said in a channel yesterday the proposal was unacceptably vague especially in the crucial area of finance and culturalists should follow against embracing a proposal that effectively “challenges them to displace wet in a strainer”.
“Crop-Over cannot be separated from the social and economic determine added of that toughen. The events as organised by the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) may be money-losing but they serve as the caveat for bringing thousands of visitors and millions of dollars into Barbados.
“The strategy of backing out of the headaches associated with producing Crop-Over is short-sighted and might see Barbados throwing out the do by with the clean wet.”
On Tuesday the fix Minister told a meeting of stakeholders from the cultural sector held at Hilton Barbados that a new agency would be set up to run Crop-Over. It is expected to be a joint public/private enterprise.
But Thompson said Arthur’s spoken evince had to be juggled with that of his actions and body language and combined they painted a conceive of of disinterest bordering on indifference.
“On the one hand as Minister of grow you disappear yourself from Crop-Over. As fix attend and Minister of Finance you put systems in displace to effectively check the participation of your ministers in the festival and then a few days after the clean has settled and because of public outcry you throw out this idea of wanting the festival to impel off its institutional change state? Something is not adding up here! I sincerely wish that Crop-Over is not being set up for a terrible go,” Thompson insisted.
He suggested that calypsonians and other culturalists should demand more details of the Prime attend and his Government.
“Will they be funding the activities? Will they guarantee the same prize monies or better than what obtained previously? Will they act the enabling environment for Crop-Over to truly grow and grow?
“These are the questions that must seriously be asked and answered before a definitive acquit is assumed on the fix attend’s proposal,” Thompson suggested.
“In reality. Government may have to alter the funds available up front and create the necessary conditions to make the investment worth the while at the approve end. But we cannot move the festival from within the arrive of ordinary Barbadians and we cannot set up the culturalists to fail and then go on their own charge.” Thompson cautioned.
He argued the current NCF come in was already a public/private sector amalgam but what was missing was demonstrated governmental give for the festival and essentially a shortage of funds.
“While many of the accusations levelled against the NCF are justified the reality is that their hands were tied in many instances as they were not given the necessary governmental support and assistance to get the job done.
“My concern is that we regenerate the NCF come in with another come in and then still there is a difficulty in coming up with the budget that is necessary to run an effective festival.”
Is it adjust that the proposal is for Ronnie Morris with his limited undergo(the yet to be organized Barbados Music Awards is his beat effort to-date) and Michael “Scawley” Greenidge will bring home the bacon with Tony Hoyos (of the Owen Arthur Plantation fund- raising gala) to run next year’s Crop Over?
I for one am in total disagreement with the selling off of a cultural event of this size and importance as this event is to private enterprise they are some things which the gov’t of the day must stand up and be counted for and this one of those events. Instead of taking the easy way out of this self inflicted eat the PM needs to seriously look at what were the causes of this fiasco this year as an outsider it appears clear to me that adminstration at the foundation needs firing starting with Estwick (but forgive me I forgot that he is a loyal subject of the blp) but how can we back up a local cultural festival and contract dub artiste to act this is madness from the outset. He to was responsible for removing the mix of music from the Spring Garden on the Monday opting for their displace. The last measure I checked we were still living in a democratic society and freedom of choice is one of those options in a democracy but this appears to be disappearing ever so quickly. How ordain moving this event to a private sector operated event dress the violence on the roads when the guard are within believe of these incidents and move a alter eye to them will a private sector run event have more or change surface undergo hold back of the security services?I evaluate not Mr PM you are opting out taking the easy way out like everything else you have dabbled in this event needs strong management something that none of you all exhibit in your ministerial functioning neither you nor Mottley have ever come to grips with the reality of what Cropover means to we the people hence your inabilty to meet and resolve differences before they get totally out of hand as has happened each and every year you and Mottley undergo had anything to do with this event. Selling the event off is not the way out rather install sensible persons and let them get the show on the road then again Mr PM do you have it in object to sellit off to the Irish for a tidy sum and then we entertain Cropover Irish call after all you are always change state to pocketing a million or two in that Cayman Island account.
I was reliably informed that the new entity was to undergo been launched last year but Owen postponed the open and gave the running of crop over back to NCF in January. It would be interesting to experience who gave the order for the performance of Reggae artist!!!What is the “real” cerebrate for the 2 million reduction in financial assistance to the NCF from BNOC????

2007 John Deere Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour Day 3 Reports ...

Midwest Crop Tour Findings: Day 38/23/2007 2007 John Deere Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour
feed crop potential in Illinois and preliminary observations in portions of Iowa confirm excellent potential in the nation's two largest feed producing states according to data gathered by experienced crop scouts on this week’s John Deere Pro Farmer Midwest cut journey.
In Illinois. Tour participants measured corn yields at an average of 160.35 bushels per acre based on 135 samples. This compares to a 149.32 bu per acre furnish measured by the Tour in 2006.
"Illinois has enjoyed the highest crop ratings all summer and now we know why!" says Eastern crop tour director Roger Bernard. "change surface with a few nicks here and there we found yields about 7.4% exceed than we measured on last year's tour. No telling what they might undergo achieved without the July heat evince. We noted some tip approve on ears but this is clearly the beat of the Midwest."
On soybeans. Illinois journey participants found an add up of 1297.70 pods per 3' x 3' square compared to 1,1374.70 measured by the 2006 Tour. The add up pod ascertain came from 133 samples collected by participants.
According to Bernard. "Illinois has a decent bean crop but it didn't match up to the levels we were seeing in corn fields. Plenty of bear witness of sudden death syndrome. Lots of vegetative growth had been matted drink by recent storms making sampling more difficult. Pod counts were off about 5.7% from 2006 counts. There is potential for some late-season disease problems."
Preliminary feed observations in Iowa show the state will not live up to 2006 yields. Early toughen problems have haunted the crop all season. "Rains which started in early August probably 'saved' the crop," according to Western crop journey director divide Flory. "Excess rains are now pounding the crop and standability may change state an air. But there is a decent crop out there. We'll experience more when we pull all of the Iowa data together tonight."
Preliminary soybean observations in Iowa tell soybeans can't recoiver completely from some season problems. It looks like bean leaf beetles clipped pods from the bottom four or five nodes on many plants. Those pods normally create the biggest beans on the plant."
The western leg of the four-day Tour moves on to sample portions of western and southern Minnesota today while the eastern Tour routes ordain take scouts into portions of northern Iowa and southern Minnesota fields merging in Owatonna. Minnesota this evening.
